Cowboy Chicken
Cowboy Chicken, the wood-fire rotisserie chicken brand that has been bringing bold flavor and honest food to the table since 1981, is celebrating 45 years of serving communities in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Georgia and Florida with a month-long lineup of special offers, giveaways and nostalgic favorites during National Rotisserie Chicken Month.
On August 19, guests can enjoy Cowboy Chicken’s original Quarter Chicken Meal at its 1981 price of $3.89. Available in-store only, the meal includes a quarter wood-fire rotisserie chicken, Cowboy Slaw, Texas Ranchero Beans and a roll.
The first 100 guests at every Cowboy Chicken location will also receive a complimentary limited-edition throwback anniversary tote.

45 Years of Wood-Fire Flavor
What began in 1981 with a simple commitment to real ingredients, wood-fire cooking and genuine hospitality has grown into a beloved restaurant brand known for its signature rotisserie chicken, homestyle sides and welcoming atmosphere. Throughout August, Cowboy Chicken is thanking loyal guests who have made the past 45 years possible with anniversary-inspired promotions that celebrate the brand’s roots while looking ahead to the future.
“For 45 years, Cowboy Chicken has stayed true to what made us successful from the very beginning — serving authentic wood-fire rotisserie chicken made with quality ingredients and welcoming every guest like family,” said Sean Kennedy, president and CEO of Cowboy Chicken. “This anniversary is about celebrating the generations of guests, team members and communities that have been part of our story and saying thank you with a month full of special offers.”
The Spark That Started It All
Phil Sanders loved Western movies. The cowboys drew from nature and found happiness in simple things. Phil decided he wanted a taste of this way of life, so he and his wife Jeanette set out to perfect wood fired food right in their backyard. In 1981, they opened their first restaurant and Cowboy Chicken was born. The growing chain now includes 19 locations in five states.
As Cowboy Chicken celebrates 45 years, guests can enjoy the wood-fire rotisserie chicken, homestyle sides, fresh salads, sandwiches and seasonal favorites that define the brand for generations. Whether visiting for the first time or returning as a longtime fan, August offers the opportunity to experience the flavor and hospitality that have made Cowboy Chicken a neighborhood favorite since 1981.
